Will you be an unknown, invisible ghost, or a brutal, silent assassin? Upgrade new tools and techniques that suit your playstyle and complete optional objectives to unlock entirely new ways to approach the game. Marked with cursed tattoos giving you heightened senses, every situation presents you with options. You must be silent, agile and clever to outwit your opponents in a world of gorgeous scenery and flowing animation. Instead of making new content I wish you would actually remake this into what it could be.In Mark of the Ninja, you’ll know what it is to truly be a ninja. If you get the parameters right on where a hiding spot has to be in relation to the range of laser sensor and many thousands of other factors it would become the best stealth game ever made. I'd also like to see these stealth mechanics used with AI level generation. The entire upgrade system could be removed and the game would become much better by just having those stealth kills and items as part of the normal game. It's like, so a ninja can't handle climbing over a ledge? The smoke bomb upgrade is awful, incapacitating the guards sets off an alarm, that's not an upgrade and made me want to strangle the nice people at Klei for a second. I really appreciate a tightly designed room space, but the way they limit you down to those choices takes me out of the immersion created by the art/sound design. Limiting the amount of items you can carry is boring, it limits creativity for interacting with the world. Most of the techniques you open up feel like stuff he should already be able to do. The other main problem with the game is the skill/item progression. Especially with how she's like "After we kill Azai we'll cleanse the clan", WTF?!, how about NO, how about that dude stops blindly doing whatever other people tell him? The game is too short, I assume because so much time/money went to the story/animations, all to create a lame finish to an excellent game. Blindly doing what some lame hallucination says is stupid, bad writing, melodrama, lame. When I go to kill the imaginary lady, I'm not saying "kill self", I'm saying screw everyone telling me what to do, time for that crazy lady to "die" so I can go do my thing and decide who needs a hefty helping of ninja. The story is kinda lame melodrama, I think the choice at the end is lame and not at all what I was thinking. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's more about the experience of playing the game and accomplishing in-game achievements, or just accomplishing personal ones. Was the ending the greatest? Meh, not really, but it was fitting. Overall, I couldn't find much to complain about. The free DLC content is a very nice bonus addition, as well, adding a little more backstory and forcing you to be a little more creative to dispose of enemies.

I found that it's really an interesting one that gives meaning to the things you do in the game. The story was inconsequential to me at first, but eventually I found myself going back to replay old levels while paying more attention to the plot.

I prefer to terrorize the guards into shooting each other or falling off the edge of a building, but a swift execution after dangling above them like Spider-Man is fun too. There is plenty of replayability and room to get creative. Different outfits and tools can be combined to sow the most terror, deal the most damage, or to simply escape from sight as quickly as possible. The gameplay is so fluid and the assassinations so satisfying that there is joy to be found in doing the most basic things. It allows for a lot of experimentation and even during a particularly difficult part of a mission, I never really got too frustrated. One of the best things about it is the freedom and confidence to do just about anything you can think to try-if you fail, you get to try again very quickly with very little fuss. It turns out a 2D stealth game can be fantastic if done right, like this game is. I typically love stealth assassination games, but I was a little hesitant about a 2D one. It turns out a I had so much fun playing this game.
